Part Two

The Time Paradox

by Eoin Colfer

⭐⭐⭐⭐

What with this being the sixth book in the series this review contains some major spoilers!

Be ye forewarned!

Artemis Fowl is back after having been gone for three years from his family's lives.  After his last adventures take him away from home for these three years a lot has changed!  He now has twin brothers!  Unfortunately, we don't get to see a lot of them in this book, but I have a feeling they will be popping up a lot more in the next few books, which makes me excited.  All seems to be going well until Artemis's mother contracts a very rare illness that is life-threatening.  Now he must find the cure, and quickly, if he wants to save her in time.  The only problem?  Artemis made the mistake of, in his past, killing off the last lemur that has the antidote.  So, now what???  Well, obviously, time travel of course!  This book was such a fun time.  I always enjoy reading this series and am getting so close to finishing it!  The only complaint I have with these books are that they tend to get a little slow toward the middle of each one, but if you can make it through they are so worth it in the end.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

by J. K. Rowling

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Continuing on with my re-read this month of Harry Potter brings me to book two, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!  I especially saved this one for reading on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.  These books always give me the holiday vibes.  Obviously I loved this book and am looking forward to picking up the next one in January. 😊

Crown of Bones

⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Ok, so I went into this book having no idea what it was about.  The synopsis on Goodreads is preeeeeetty vague....  I was like, "Well the cover is cool so the book should be somewhat good. Right?" 😂  Little did I know just how epic this story would be!  Can someone please get me book two?  Like, now???  This book starts out with a group of five people that are making their way to Aku, a place where there is a school to help them hone their abilities with magical beings they can call forth from the ground called 'phantoms'.  Little do they know that along the way they will encounter all sorts of dangers that prolong their journey.  Will they make it to their destination in time before the doors to the school close, or will they have to make the dangerous journey to try again next year?  And will they even survive along the way?  Political intrigue, amazing magic system (Like seriously, phantoms you can raise from the ground?! It's like having your own personal patronus 😍), crushing secrets, an epic adventure, a super swoony romance, and mer-people....  What's not to love about all that?!  Seriously, go check this book out! Especially if you love a good YA fantasy.
