The Selection Series is basically if The Bachelor met The Hunger Games.  I enjoyed reading this second installation where we follow America as she tries to figure out if she could handle becoming queen and who she truly loves.  Maxon or Aspen?  I've never really been one for love triangles but I have to know how this story ends. (Spoiler alert... The spin-off series has already been out for a while and it's pretty obvious who she picks due to who her daughter is so bummer for me I didn't read this when it first came out. Oh well...) Well anyway, I'm curious to see how things will end up between the royalty and the rebels in book 3 so I will continue this series.  A few times while I was reading I had to roll my eyes at how immature some of these characters were being but maybe I've just outgrown some of these YA books.  Not that I don't still love reading YA, but wow the angst. 😂  I absolutely love America's maids and her relationship with them!  They are seriously awesome.  Also, the descriptions of the dresses they make for her sound amazing.  I would love for this series to be turned into a movie just to see what the wardrobe would look like.  As for the OTP I'm still not decided on who I want America to end up with.  I'm sure the scales will end up tipping in the last book.  Hmmmmm...  Overall this book kept me interested and I breezed right through it!

Rangers Apprentice The Emperor of Nihon-Ja by John Flanagan Once again the Ranger's Apprentice series has sucked me in and I can't put it down.  These characters are all so lovable and I just have to know what happens to them!  The banter back and forth between them is just great.  I laugh out loud every time.  Are these books suuuuper predictable?  Yes, but I still have a wonderful time reading them.  The action scenes are cool and I think John Flanagan does an excellent job of not letting it get too cheesy.  This tenth book is a fantastic continuation of the series with all my favorite characters joining together to overcome a powerful force that wants to bring down a good and kind emperor.  Action, adventure, romance, friendship.  This book has it all and I'm so happy there are still more books for me to be able to dive back into this world.  I will say that this book did drag a little towards the middle section but once I hit the 3/4 mark it picked up and I couldn'

A Light in the Window by Jan Karon   This book felt like coming home.  After reading the first book last year I haven't been able to get these characters off my mind.  This series makes me wish Mitford was a real town with real people where I could go and live out the rest of my life in coziness with flower gardens, all the coffee and comfort food you could ever need, and good friends that know you aren't perfect but will love and pray for you regardless. ' "Feller in here last week squawked to me about th' coffee, said it was s' weak he had t' help it out of the pot. That," he concluded, darkly, "was a Yankee lie." '  Some of the conversations and antics that happened made me laugh out loud, but then there were the serious moments in this book that had my heart racing and had the tears about to fall.   Deadly Secrets By Jessica C. Joiner This continuation of the Scott McCully Espionage Adventure series was a wild ride!  About halfway through I couldn't put the book down and finished the last half in a day.  This book was action packed and full of suspense.  There were quite a few times that my heart was racing and I just had to know what happened next.  Definitely need to get book #4 soon! My only problem with this series would be the amount of grammatical errors in it.  It could get a little distracting.  Would I recommend this series though?  Absolutely!  Do I think Winston is one of the most obnoxious and annoying characters I've ever read about?  100%..............
