I super duper enjoyed this book.  Gen, our main character, is one of my most favorite personalities to be able to enjoy seeing everything from his perspective.  Cocky, funny, arrogant, and altogether lovable for it.  We find Gen starting out in prison for stealing the king's seal ring and bragging loudly about it to anyone who will listen.  Aaaaaand, of course, who should hear it but the king's guards.  Then, as is another favorite trope of mine, a mysterious visitor comes knocking on the cell door to ask him if he would like to be released from prison to go on an adventure, all expenses paid, and when he completes the task set for him he will be freed.  All he has to do is steal something for him.  




Adventure, friendship, hilarious banter, and mystery.  This book had me loving every second I was reading it.  Not too much happens in this first book, but in the end it sets this series up for a much larger plot.  Also, I foresee romance in Gen's future and I am all here for it.  Let the 'shipping begin.  😍

Rangers Apprentice The Emperor of Nihon-Ja by John Flanagan Once again the Ranger's Apprentice series has sucked me in and I can't put it down.  These characters are all so lovable and I just have to know what happens to them!  The banter back and forth between them is just great.  I laugh out loud every time.  Are these books suuuuper predictable?  Yes, but I still have a wonderful time reading them.  The action scenes are cool and I think John Flanagan does an excellent job of not letting it get too cheesy.  This tenth book is a fantastic continuation of the series with all my favorite characters joining together to overcome a powerful force that wants to bring down a good and kind emperor.  Action, adventure, romance, friendship.  This book has it all and I'm so happy there are still more books for me to be able to dive back into this world.  I will say that this book did drag a little towards the middle section but once I hit the 3/4 mark it picked up and I couldn'

A Light in the Window by Jan Karon   This book felt like coming home.  After reading the first book last year I haven't been able to get these characters off my mind.  This series makes me wish Mitford was a real town with real people where I could go and live out the rest of my life in coziness with flower gardens, all the coffee and comfort food you could ever need, and good friends that know you aren't perfect but will love and pray for you regardless. ' "Feller in here last week squawked to me about th' coffee, said it was s' weak he had t' help it out of the pot. That," he concluded, darkly, "was a Yankee lie." '  Some of the conversations and antics that happened made me laugh out loud, but then there were the serious moments in this book that had my heart racing and had the tears about to fall. Deadly Secrets

  Deadly Secrets By Jessica C. Joiner This continuation of the Scott McCully Espionage Adventure series was a wild ride!  About halfway through I couldn't put the book down and finished the last half in a day.  This book was action packed and full of suspense.  There were quite a few times that my heart was racing and I just had to know what happened next.  Definitely need to get book #4 soon! My only problem with this series would be the amount of grammatical errors in it.  It could get a little distracting.  Would I recommend this series though?  Absolutely!  Do I think Winston is one of the most obnoxious and annoying characters I've ever read about?  100%..............
